Overview
Discover Juneau’s aquatic beauty and bounty on a “whales guaranteed” wildlife expedition and salmon bake. Board a specially-designed, large-windowed catamaran in Auke Bay for a comfortable cruise to Stephens Passage, a favored summer feeding spot for humpback whales. Enjoy viewing and photographing the graceful giants as an onboard naturalist explains their behavior and habitat. The catamaran then whisks you to Orca Point Lodge on Colt Island, for a sustainably crafted Alaskan surf & turf meal with all the trimmings.

Following your meal, enjoy the views of the remote island landscape. Use the spotting scopes on the outside deck to search for wildlife on nearby shorelines, visit the marine life observation tank where you can learn about intertidal zone creatures, beach comb on the lodge’s beautiful shoreline, kickback fireside and much more!

Due to the remote nature of the lodge only select dietary requests can be accommodated. Please consult the shore excursion office before booking for details.
While whale sightings are frequent in April, September and October they are not guaranteed due to the transient nature of Southeast Alaska’s whale population. Whale sightings are guaranteed only June – August should guests not see a whale during these months you’ll receive $100 cash refund per person as you disembark the sightseeing vessel.
