BKM3 – Dockyard Brewing Tour and Tasting - August 21 4:00 pm

Raise a glass in honor of Bermuda’s micro brewing traditions on a guided walking tour of the Royal Naval Yard that includes a brewery visit and pub tasting. Join an informative guide for a leisurely stroll through the 200-year-old former maritime headquarters, as you hear the fascinating history behind the fortifications, where food supplies were stored for the United Kingdom’s Naval fleet. Meet a brew master at the nearby Dockyard Brewing Co., the island’s only microbrewery, where you’ll learn how they produce beer — from the malts and hops they use for the processes of mashing, fermentation, conditioning and kegging. Then it’s on to the Frog & Onion Pub, one of the most popular watering holes in Bermuda’s West End, housed in the old limestone cooperage environs from the 1800s. In the pub’s casual and relaxed atmosphere you’ll taste a flight of five locally crafted artisan beers brewed onsite, including lagers, porters, ales and wheat beers.
